Shopify CSV export → AI optimization → Re-import via Shopify Admin. No third-party app, no API access required, pay-as-you-go pricing.
A mature Shopify catalog typically holds between 200 and 5,000 product pages, written over the years by different people, sometimes imported from a supplier feed or a legacy back-office. The result: inconsistent title lengths and styles, descriptions that are either too thin or too technical, empty SEO fields, tags piled up without logic. That noise is expensive — in SEO (Google struggles to rank weak pages), in conversion (shoppers hesitate in front of poor listings), and in time (reworking 1,000 listings by hand takes weeks).
Ecomptimize reads your standard Shopify CSV export, recognizes every native column, and improves the content fields you pick — titles, HTML descriptions, SEO tags, product tags — without touching structural data (price, SKU, variants, images, handle). You review the proposed changes in a dedicated screen, accept or correct, then re-import the file into your Shopify admin. No app install, no access to your orders or customers.
Shopify Admin > Products > Export. Choose "All products" (or a filtered subset). Format "CSV for Excel, Numbers, or other spreadsheets". You receive the file by email within minutes.
In Ecomptimize: dashboard > Optimize > drop the CSV. We detect it as a Shopify export, pre-map the columns, estimate the price based on product count, and ask you to confirm which fields to optimize and which brand voice to follow.
After the run, the review screen shows every listing side by side: before / after. Accept, correct, or leave suggestions as-is before exporting.
CSV export in the same Shopify format. In Shopify Admin > Products > Import, drop the file and check "Overwrite any existing products that have the same handle". Listings update without creating duplicates.
Product-optimization apps on the Shopify App Store usually require API access to your store (read products, orders, customers), a monthly subscription that runs even when you don't use it, and an install that often leaves traces in your theme or webhooks after uninstall. For a one-shot or quarterly catalog refresh, that model is over-engineered.
Ecomptimize works especially well on catalogs where product listings carry a differentiation or SEO stake. The use cases below are where the product is most relevant.
No. Ecomptimize works only through Shopify's native CSV export/import. You grant no API access to your store. You export a file, we optimize it, you re-import. Zero impact on your theme, webhooks, or metafields.
No. The Handle field — which drives your URL — is preserved verbatim in the re-imported file. No redirects to set up, no lost backlinks, no impact on your earned SEO.
No, as long as you check "Overwrite any existing products that have the same handle" during the Shopify import. Since the Handle is identical, Shopify updates the existing listing instead of creating a new one.
Large catalogs are supported within file size and processing limits. For a first try, we recommend 20 to 50 listings to calibrate the brand voice.
The run is billed once launched, but you get to review and correct every listing before exporting. If a listing doesn't work for you, you can reject it or edit it directly in the review screen. Nothing goes "live" until you re-import into Shopify.
Never. Variant Price, Variant SKU, Variant Inventory Qty columns, and all structural metadata (Vendor, Type, Published, Taxable) are strictly preserved. We only work on the content fields you selected.
Yes. The Shopify CSV format uses one row per variant and Ecomptimize correctly groups rows to work at the product level. Title and Body HTML are optimized once per product; variant options and names are preserved as-is.
The selected offer defines the processed fields: The essentials covers Title, Body HTML and Tags; Google visibility, Formatted product pages and Expert catalog add SEO Title and SEO Description. Fields outside the offer stay preserved.
Yes. Your CSV is processed within the scope of your account and only by Ecomptimize and the configured AI providers required for the processing. Retention periods and subprocessors are documented in the privacy policy.
Yes. The CSV export format is the same as standard Shopify. Plus-specific features (B2B channels, Markets, advanced metafields) are preserved on re-import since we only touch the selected content columns.
Export a sample from Shopify, run it in Ecomptimize, then review the suggestions before reimporting. The exact price is shown and confirmed before paid processing.
